Join OFFBEAT, Kristopher Andres and Paul Zizka for a once-in-a-lifetime 10-day photographic expedition through the heart of India’s untamed wilderness. This exclusive journey takes you deep into Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks—two of the country’s most iconic and wildlife-rich regions, and the very jungles that inspired Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.
Renowned for their dense sal forests, golden meadows, and ancient ruins reclaimed by nature, these parks are among the best places in the world to spot the elusive Bengal tiger. But tigers are just the beginning. With the guidance of experienced trackers and naturalists, we’ll seek out leopards, sloth bears, Indian bison, and a dazzling variety of birds and primates.
Photographers of all levels will be inspired by the raw, cinematic beauty of central India. Our days will be filled with morning and evening game drives, storytelling, editing sessions, and deep connections with the land and local communities.
If you’ve ever dreamed of capturing the wild spirit of India through your lens, this adventure is for you.

》WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
1. How to anticipate and photograph wildlife in various conditions.
2. How to develop your vision as a wildlife and landscape photographer.
3. What to look for when photographing wildlife / capturing the personality.
4. How to assess a scene in order to capture both the wide, epic photographs as well as the small, intimate ones.
5. Telling a story through your photography.
》YOUR OFFBEAT INSTRUCTORS*
PAUL ZIZKA // LEADER
Specializing in photographing in difficult conditions and hard-to-reach places, Paul has a passion for shooting alpine sports and backcountry experiences, capturing the spirit of adventurers and finding unusual angles of common mountain subjects. As a landscape photographer, he particularly enjoys the challenge of capturing nature’s beauty at night and the unique features that come with a dark sky – stars, Northern Lights and dramatic silhouettes. Paul’s award-winning photos have been featured in a variety of publications, including National Geographic, Maclean’s, Alpinist, Huffington Post, The Guardian, Islands, and Climbing magazine.
KRIS ANDRES // LEADER
Based in the Canadian Rockies, Kristopher considers the mountains (along with everywhere he travels) to be his second home. Kris is always up for endless adventures with a smile—no matter how "atmospheric" the conditions are. He will be overly excited in almost everything he does in life, capturing each story with the click of a shutter, in any and all genres—from adventure to landscapes to portraiture to food and more! When he’s not out creating, Kris is a full-time yogi working to refine himself every day. [Bio Photo by Paul Zizka]

》ITINERARY
The itinerary is subject to change.
Day 1: Welcome to India
Upon your arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, and after clearing customs and immigration, you’ll be met by our friendly local representative who will escort you to your hotel.
Delhi is a city of contrasts — a pulsing modern metropolis layered over thousands of years of history. As India’s capital and third-largest city, it’s one of the fastest-growing urban hubs in Asia, yet ancient empires still whisper from the shadows of crumbling forts and Mughal tombs. From the chaos of spice markets to the serenity of centuries-old ruins, Delhi offers a striking introduction to a land of stories.
Tonight, settle into your hotel and prepare for the wild adventure ahead — the jungle awaits, but first, let Delhi charm you with its past and present.
Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi to Bandhavgarh
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Jabalpur. From there, a scenic 3.5-hour drive takes us to Bandhavgarh National Park, nestled in the Vindhya Hills of Madhya Pradesh.
This legendary park — once a royal hunting ground — is famed for its high density of Bengal tigers and rich biodiversity. The landscape is a striking mix of sal and bamboo forest, rolling grasslands, and crumbling ruins swallowed by jungle. Expect sightings of sloth bears, langurs, deer, wild boars, and over 150 bird species.
We’ll check in at Bandhavgarh Jungle Lodge, a charming, eco-conscious retreat just steps from the park gate. Evenings bring birdsong, rustling leaves, and maybe even the distant call of a prowling cat.
Overnight at Bandhavgarh Jungle Lodge.
Day 3: Bandhavgarh National Park
Wake-up call with a gentle knock and a hot cup of tea or coffee — the jungle calls! Mornings in Bandhavgarh are magical: mist hangs in the air, birdsong fills the trees, and the thrill of the unknown awaits.
As the sun rises, we head out on our first jungle safari in open 4x4 jeeps, accompanied by a resident naturalist and expert forest guide. Keep your camera ready — this is tiger country, and you never know what might cross your path.
Winter safaris can be brisk, but we’ll keep you warm with cozy blankets and even the occasional hot water bottle.
After lunch, we venture out for an afternoon game drive, soaking in the golden light and the rhythm of the wild. Return to the lodge for evening tea and some well-earned relaxation.
Day 4: Bandhavgarh National Park
Another enchanting morning begins with a soft knock at your door and a warm cup of tea or coffee. The jungle stirs as the mist lifts — birds sing, langurs leap, and the day’s first safari adventure begins.
We head out at dawn in open 4x4 jeeps with our expert naturalist and forest guide. Keep your eyes peeled — every corner of Bandhavgarh holds the promise of something wild, whether it’s the flash of a tiger’s stripes or a shy sambar deer peeking through the trees.
After a delicious lunch, we venture out once more for an afternoon game drive, soaking in golden light and jungle secrets. Evenings are for tea, stories, and a little well-earned downtime.
Day 5: Bandhavgarh to Kanha
After one final morning safari in Bandhavgarh, we say farewell to the land of tigers and begin our journey to Kanha National Park — a scenic drive of approximately six hours through the heart of Madhya Pradesh.
Kanha is one of India’s largest and most breathtaking national parks. With vast meadows, dense sal and bamboo forests, and winding ravines, it’s a haven for predators and prey alike. Here, you may encounter leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, and the elusive swamp deer — the barasingha — once nearly extinct and now a symbol of Kanha’s conservation triumph.
Dubbed the “Ngorongoro of India,” Kanha's landscapes offer unforgettable photographic opportunities: herds of chital grazing in sunlit meadows, backed by towering sal trees and the occasional roar echoing in the distance.
Day 6: Kanha National Park
Wake to a gentle knock, a steaming cup of tea or coffee, and the sounds of the jungle waking with you. As the first light breaks, we head into Kanha National Park on a morning safari in open 4x4 jeeps, guided by expert naturalists and forest rangers.
Today’s experience includes a special picnic breakfast deep in the jungle — fresh air, wild calls, and hot chai amidst ancient sal trees.
Day 7: Outside the Jeep
This morning begins, once again, with a warm knock and a comforting cup of tea or coffee. While most national parks in India, including Kanha, close to tourists on Wednesdays to give wildlife and staff a well-earned rest, that doesn’t mean the adventure stops.
Today, we trade the rumble of jeeps for the quiet rustle of leaves beneath our boots. Optional nature walks around the lodge offer a slower, more intimate perspective of the forest — perfect for birders, macro photographers, and those who enjoy observing the subtle rhythm of the jungle.
It’s a day to breathe, recharge, and deepen your connection to the land.
Day 8: Kanha National Park
Wake to the soft knock of morning and a warm cup of tea or coffee. Misty mornings filled with birdcalls set the perfect scene as we embark on another thrilling jungle safari at dawn. Accompanied by expert naturalists and forest guides, we explore Kanha’s lush landscapes in open 4x4 jeeps, eyes peeled for tigers and other elusive wildlife.
After lunch, we venture out again for an afternoon game drive, soaking in Kanha’s vibrant wild spirit.
Day 9: Jungle Safari and Conservation Legacy
Start your day with a gentle knock and a warm cup of tea or coffee as the jungle awakens with mist and birdsong. At dawn, we set off in open 4x4 jeeps for a thrilling jungle safari, guided by resident naturalists and forest experts.
Midway through the morning, enjoy a picnic breakfast deep in the heart of the jungle — savor the sounds, sights, and scents of this wild sanctuary. Our lodge is proudly managed by descendants of Kailash Sankhala, the pioneering founder director of Project Tiger. His family’s three-generation legacy in tiger conservation continues here, protecting these majestic cats and their habitat. Their inspiring story is featured in a Discovery Channel documentary that premiered at Sundance.
After a leisurely lunch, we head out once more for an afternoon safari, soaking in every last glimpse of Kanha’s spectacular wildlife..
Day 10: Journey Back to Delhi
After an early morning safari to soak in those final wild moments, we embark on the drive to Raipur Airport — approximately 4½ hours through the heart of Madhya Pradesh.
Board your flight to Delhi (flight timings subject to change), where you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel for a restful evening.
Take this time to reflect on your unforgettable journey through India’s tiger heartlands, surrounded by memories of majestic wildlife, lush forests, and rich conservation legacies.
Day 11: Departure from Delhi
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Delhi’s international airport for your onward flight.
As you bid farewell to India, carry with you unforgettable memories of wild adventures, vibrant culture, and incredible friendships forged on this extraordinary journey.

WHAT OUR PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO SAY
ABOUT OFFBEAT WORKSHOPS
”
“Curiosity, kindness, and light. What more could you want from your guides and other members of your community? Our trip was incredible: people, places, and personalities. From chasing the light in a ditch off the side of the road, to finding horses to rub noses with, even the most seemingly insignificant moments were memorable. And that's the beauty of Offbeat, in a nutshell: finding the impossible in the most improbable places.”
-Dave G.
“The workshop was amazing - great instruction and professionalism by the instructors. They did a great job handling the group's variety of experience and took time to help each one of us individually. They prepared well for a variety of conditions and had great locations scouted out before we arrived. Kris and Paul are excellent instructors and loads of fun!”
- Tracy B.
“I have attended a number of OFFBEAT Workshops and have loved them all. The co-founders are two of the most genuine people I have met and they are both so enthusiastic and passionate about what they do. They always ensure that you have the best time and are always willing to share their time and experience with you. My photography has definitely improved since learning from these two. I have also only meet decent and friendly people on these workshops. Everybody is there for the common goal - photography and everybody has such fun. I can not recommend Offbeat highly enough.”
— Claire C.
“I felt the level of collaboration and support among the participants in this one was exceptional and so was the size of the group. It is easier to hide in bigger groups when I feel insecure with my skills and talent. The content was timely, appropriate and exceedingly well organized. The facilitators’ presentation skills were exceptional. I came away with a little more confidence and a lot more knowledge. Thanks, Dave and Paul!!!”
-Jan L.
