Travel to Namibia with OFFBEAT in the autumn of 2024! This 12-day trip will take you around some of the major landmarks in Namibia, as well as many spots off the beaten track: vast sand dunes, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, wildlife and ghost towns. With the guidance of acclaimed landscape photographer Dave Brosha, as well as four assistants, you will be able to advance your technical photo skills while documenting this incredible place.
Beginning in Windhoek the group will convene at the charming Hotel Pension Palmquell for a debriefing and preparation session. Over the following days, the itinerary unfolds with visits to the Quiver Trees area, the haunting Kolmanskop ghost town, and the surreal Sossuvlei & Deadvlei region, where participants will refine their astrophotography skills. Along the way, the adventure includes exploration of the Luderitz coastline, Sandwich Harbour, Swakopmund, and Spitzkoppe, offering diverse photographic opportunities. The journey culminates in the renowned Etosha area for wildlife photography, culminating in a celebratory group dinner.
On this adventure-filled workshop, most nights are spent sleeping in rooftop tents! This transport is quick, easy and safe and brings you right into the landscape and scenes you’ll be photographing.
We hope you’ll join us for this photography workshop in Namibia!
》YOUR OFFBEAT INSTRUCTORS*
DAVE BROSHA // LEADER
Holding a passion for the world and an eye for the beauty it contains, Prince Edward Island-based, award-winning commercial, personal, and adventure photographer Dave Brosha is on a continual journey to seek out and capture the beauty of this world – whether it’s the beauty of some of the most extreme and pristine environments in the world or the beauty of some of a person’s most personal moments. In addition to living throughout northern Canada for much of his life, Dave has also lived in Asia and has travelled extensively through both the many provinces and territories of his native country and numerous countries abroad. An explorer at heart, his images – no matter what the genre – are full of heart and soul, and are a testament to the human spirit.
KAHLI HINDMARSH // LEADER
Kahli is a landscape, night and adventure photographer originally from Australia. Now spending most of her time travelling between Canada and New Zealand, her work is a reflection of her passions; travel, mountains and inspiring landscapes. Often found hiking in the mountains or chasing the aurora in the middle of the night, Kahli enjoys the challenge of finding unique scenes and interesting light. Sharing these breathtaking landscapes with others while exploring the world is what motivates Kahli, hoping to inspire people to get out and explore for themselves. She has found a deeper purpose within photography by sharing what she has learned from her experience shooting in the field.
LEE NORDBYE // LEADER
Lee Nordbye is a landscape photographer, speaker, and teacher based in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada. An award-winning and published photographer, Lee is known for a bold photographic style that highlights the intimate details and nuances of the natural world. Call him a fine art photographer with an adventurous spirit, Lee enjoys spending time in the outdoors and immersing himself in his subject in order to capture scenes in the moment. His elegant and soulful approach to photography is matched by a passion to challenge himself, explore wild places, and have fun while doing it. [Bio photo by Amy Liu.]
AARON VON HAGEN // LEADER
From the Canadian Arctic to the White Continent and working on everywhere in between, Aaron is a self-proclaimed coffee, camera, and culinary connoisseur. He is a passionate photographer who specializes in many genres. He’s an adventurous globe-trotter who’s not overly scared of street meat. He’s a professionally trained barista, a great camp cook, a fervent podcast listener, a great friend, and an eternal optimist.

WHAT OUR PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO SAY
ABOUT OFFBEAT WORKSHOPS
”
“I have attended a number of OFFBEAT Workshops and have loved them all. Dave and Paul are two of the most genuine people I have met and they are both so enthusiastic and passionate about what they do. They always ensure that you have the best time and are always willing to share their time and experience with you. My photography has definitely improved since learning from these two. I have also only meet decent and friendly people on these workshops. Everybody is there for the common goal - photography and everybody has such fun. I can not recommend Offbeat highly enough.”
— Claire C.
“I felt the level of collaboration and support among the participants in this one was exceptional and so was the size of the group. It is easier to hide in bigger groups when I feel insecure with my skills and talent. The content was timely, appropriate and exceedingly well organized. The facilitators’ presentation skills were exceptional. I came away with a little more confidence and a lot more knowledge. Thanks, Dave and Paul!!!”
-Jan L.
“Attending this workshop turned into a key moment in my life and one that I will forever remember. The camaraderie, generosity of time and spirit that was shared among the leaders, photographers and the models were very impressive and added to an extremely rewarding experience. Not only are the leaders of OFFBEAT very good photographers, they are very, very good people and yes, I definitely plan on attending future OFFBEAT workshops.”
